No connection at all and game jabber
Jun. 4th, 2011 07:39 pm(written at Dad's)Bah. This is why I have Saturdays off from Dad's,normally. I pick up the signal from people living near (legally, btw,it's a connection sharing programme from British Telecom) and obviously people are OUT doing stuff on Saturday rather than sitting over their PCs. If i hold the laptop over my head there's a signal, but that's not exactly ideal. Unless I were to build a scaffold and lie there like Michelangelo. (although they now reckon that's not how he did it.)
Another reason I loathe Saturdays is that I went to get some shopping at Tesco for Dad. OH GOD what a nightmare. After months now of shopping online I realise why I prefer it because stupid people in supermarkets deserve to DIE. Never again will be so disorganised I forget to do the shopping online. Why don't they have traffic rules in supermarkets? roundabouts?
But it's Dad's birthday today—he's 83—so I'm here armed with Banoffee pie, Lilies, some post it notes, some pens and useful stuff like that. Also ginger. He loves the stuff and it makes me hurl.
The new Lara Croft game looks intriguing, even if they've uglified Lara and now she looks like just any old Square Enix Babe. No gameplay shown yet, just typical Square cut scenes, but I'm sure like a mug I'll buy the game anyway. I've bought all the really crappy ones, after all—apart from the really bizarre last one where it was top down tiny figure action. Er? What the hell was that about? Lara's not out till NEXT year anyway. Whereas… Assassin's Creed Revelations will be out this year! can'twaitcan'twaitcan'twaitcan'twaitcan'twait
Also planning on getting LA Noire (what's with the e?) which seems to have elements of puzzling and role play and detection. I loved the detecting bits of Heavy Rain (really wish I hadn't sold that on now) so hoping LA pretentious will have more of that kind of thing. Not yet though. I have DragonAge 2 to get done (although I'm being killed constantly right now and don't know what to do about it) and there's always Oblivion. i swear, I'm still going to galloping around Oblivion world when I'm 70 and still finding new things to do.
And finally on the gaming news: This outfit isn't gay. At All. The character is probably a member of the Tea Party.(click to see in full size)
Bah. *wonders if she can get Dad to hold PC in air while she stands on a chair to type…*
(not really desperate)
