Catchy up Stuffs
Jul. 8th, 2011 09:30 am1. Yeah, Murdoch. We really believe you put 200 out of work and closed a 160 year old paper because of some moral outrage over disgusting practices of the paper six years ago. It wouldn't have been viable to prosecute the wrongdoers, because the advertising was non-existent. What a fucking publicity stunt. He'll have another tabloid—e.g. the Sun-day out in a while. *hates Murdoch*
2. Watched the USA version of The Killing yesterday. Was SO BORED. I shall track down the original Danish version and see how that is.
3. Got some writing done yesterday – hurrah.
I have to say I've been concerned about my lack of output this year, particularly when I see that others have written 2k a DAY!!
I stopped writing "I Knew Him" at the end of last year and then Jan-March I was editing. So, I could use that as an excuse, and then a couple of weeks promoting Mere Mortals, takes me up to April…But since then, no excuses.
So yesterday I tried something I'd done tried and tested before, and jumped forward a couple of chapters and it started to flow again. There's just such complicated plotlines to sort out.(for me,not for the reader!) I need to do some solid research into some crime-y things before I can go back and do the missing chapters. Anyway, I was pleased to do 800 words, which is pathetic. But I try not to think of myself as pathetic! Everyone is so blooming productive though—and seriously, I'm pleased for you all—it's just a little overwhelming.
But I set myself a target of two books a year, and I must must must stick to that. Or what's the point of this starving artist in a garret act?

3. That's 800 more than me! Don't be so hard on yourself. I do a lot of thinking about writing. Does that count?
Dave's just finished his nights and has brought bacon and sausage rolls home. Breakfast from Gregg's...how decadent? LOL Mr Dickie approves of the bits of bacon fat I through out for him...waiting there at the edge of the grass and coming down once I'd gone back in. <3
Also I've just finished watching The Glass Virgin and where I have seen one of the main characters before was driving me mad. Manuel is a very young and handsome Brendan Coyle....Mr Bates in Downton Abbey! We are laughing so hard I couldn't work it out. OmG though. Verrry niiiiice ;) I have already had thoughts of transporting him into a story. He needs cleaning up...occasionally. ;)

Date: 2011-07-08 12:31 pm (UTC)I did a test a few weeks back, more for fun than anything; a "what do you want to be when you grow up" like test. No matter how I twisted and tweaked the answers I ended up on the starving artist end of things. I guess some of us are just born that way. I wont be rich and famous before I'm dead I'm afraid, and even then there's no guarantee for success. You just have to plod on. One word at a time, one book at a time. Someday you'll look back and think; Yay! I did it, I put down tracks.....
