I started to watch this last night as it seemed promising, but – I don’t know whether it’s me or not, and my concentration has been shot to hell – but I found it hugely dull.

Granted I haven’t read the book, so I’ll do that before I pass further judgement, perhaps. But surely the book can’t be as boring. They even made the trenches boring. There was a good deal of Significant Staring. At the love to be interest, at Other Men in the trenches, at the horror, at nothing. The story was disjointed (seems to be a trend) and I dare say it all tied together at some point but it was just. BLAH.

Although beautifully shot and the trench warfare set was amazing. I might give it another go if anyone watched it and can say it was worth it?
