All my icons until 24th December will be by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] lysa1 which feature Lucius' finest feature.  *cough*  An Advent Calendar of Snakey and Lucius. Some of them are brilliant, and very clever.  *loves [livejournal.com profile] lysa1*

I've finally got a new PC, courtesy of my mother who suddenly noticed she hadn't bought me anything for last birthday, christmas, birthday.  It's a lovely machine, and a fabulous flat monitor at last (which i can read from across the room!!!) but when I got it home I discovered it didn't had a phone port.  You think the specs on the website or the salesperson might have MENTIONED this.  *sigh*  In a normal place, this wouldn't matter but the nearest PC shoppe to me (being a country mouse) is 20 miles. grrrr.

However, when I do have it up and running I'll get broadband and then whee!!!

What I'd like to say, though, is that getting a flat screen monitor and being able to move it from the main desk space to the back shelf, which is what the desk is mad more, has made space on the main part of the desk.  And guess what?  The Snucius have requisitioned it for their own.  So much for thinking that I would be able to start using the desk for what it's supposed to be used for.

I've just discovered that the number of the beast has been downgraded to 616.  Interesting and vastly amusing for all those roads and shops and hotel rooms that changed their numbers.

New PC?

I am so envious - my flat screen monitor died 3 weeks ago and now I am stuck with some big old beast that takes up more than its fair share of my desk. *Grump*

Even more envious of the Snucius being there - give Lili a hug from me.

And the number of the beast has become 616? Guess what my extension is at work? I rock - at last!

Sounds like you enjoy very much your new pc. You sounds like a kid the Christmas morning. My brother, the geek in family (he is IT engeneering, I'm economist) always made my computers for me, so I use them but I don't know how they works. Strange if you think that I'm a BA for financial software! but really I'm also a booksellers and I like this second job more than the the first... Like now, I'm in my shop, with the last table in (we have also a little resturaunt inside) and write on my journal... ciao, elisa

I love the way you talk about your cats, like they're a single entity. *g*

Btw, interesting story about 616. Some radio show (I think it was Wait Wait Don't Tell Me) was reporting on the downgrade, and they thought it would be clever to call the town that had that area code. So they did, and I forget where it was, but the town they called got a bit annoyed and informed them that actually, the town they wanted was the next one over. So the radio show called the OTHER town, chuckling about how they were calling Satan and GUESS WHO JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THAT TOWN ON THAT DAY.

I think Severus knows his name - but he responds better to Sevvie.. (which is galling)

Lucius doesn't really respond to anything (neither of them knew their previous names at ALL) but he knows my voice. If I just want them I yell "Snucius" and they come running.

They love each other so much, I've never had cats who were so close and it's very sweet to see them squashed into one bed together.

The whole 616 thing gives me all sort of Hitchhiker type bunnies...

Heh. THIS is the icon I'd meant to use. Car, cats, whatever. :P

I read somewhere that cats and dogs like names that end in eeeee, that they respond to it. Sophie goes a bit berserk and gets very affection whenever I squeal "KITTEEEEEEEEE!" Maybe that explains the Sevvie appeal.

I've only ever had pairs of cats. It's wonderful when they're bonded. They keep each other company when you're away, and it's so lovely waking up under a pile of purring cats, especially when it's cold. :)

I've got a William sleeping on my feet right now.

Oh I see! Snucius is a cat! I wonder who he is and in how he can "occupy" a desk and not free it. My last cat (Mayo, like the Ireland County), when saw me (and although he was an one eye cat, he had a good sight...) with my laptop on my knees didn't understand why "his" place was occupy by another thing, and arrived with his little paws to push on the keyboard until I dropped my laptop to bring him on.

The Snucius is two cats - Lucius and Severus - this is them.

They are lovely. And very young indeed. I can't send you a link of mine, cause I lost all my digital photo some weeks ago (HD crush down), and I have to scanner it again (I use an old nikon reflex for my pictures and then I convert the real photos in digital photos). My last cat (he died the last summer) was a red cat with one eye: his mother toss it because can't nurse to health him and I took him when he was only two/three weeks older. I called him Mayo cause when he was born (his mother was a wild cat, but his father probabily was a cat of mine, another red cat, Mandarino, like the fruit, Mandi for short) I was on travel in Ireland and when my mother called me to say the news, I was in Mayo County.

I uploaded some pictures. If you want this was Mayo: http://www.romance-novels.org/mayo.htm. It was an August day in my garden (his favourite place to play...)
