Well whaddya expect if Mummy & Daddy have a publishing house?

Eragon the Movie is crap. Well colour me not-surprised. I shall not be wasting the well-earned Erastes pound on the film, that's for sure. I've been told the acting leaves Radcliffe looking like a Rada graduate.

Vile weekend. My electricity went off on Sunday afternoon and I couldn't get it back until Monday midday, and it would have to be the coldest night of the year so far, with thick hoar frosts and a quarter of an inch of ice in the bird bath.... I spent all the weekend over at mother's house and the Sunday and Monday in bed waiting for the leccy to come back on. I didn't bother with work.

I didn't see Torchwood, due to no Electrickery, and I didn't see Hogfather due to no SkyOne-ery. So I'll order the Hogfather from Amazon and watch Torchwood on the repeats.

But I DID see Strictly come dancing and I can't wait until lunchtime when I shall sit glued to the re-run of Mark's Argentine Tango as it was the HOTTEST thing I've ever seen. (*sizzle*)

I would give good money to see the AT done with two men. Why isn't there a gay Strictly Come Dancing?

Hmmm. everyone seems to be going to lunch early. If they think I'm going to sit and work while they all bugger off Christmas shopping, they've got another think coming!!

Two more lovely LOVELY reviews for Standish - One LJ one HERE from [livejournal.com profile] wildestranger and HURRAH! a review on Amazon.com too - HERE (bottom of page) elisa has added her review as well, but I've already said thank you for that!

(the anachronism that [livejournal.com profile] wildestranger refers to is completely idiotic on my part. I had written about Ambrose reading a book, wrote down "Dracula" went and researched Dracula, found out that it hadn't been published till about 50 years later, so went and found "The Vampyre" by Polidori which was published in 1819 - PERFECT! I then... *headdesk* forgot to change the text. What a mutton-head...)

*pets* It's an easy mistake.

It really sucks that Eragon is really bad. I liked the book, I really did. My boyfriend keeps asking me when I want to go see the movie because he knows I really wanted to see it. I think I made him want to see it. I think I'll just hand him the book.

I am gald you have power now and were able to go to your mother's. It's been cold here as well and we don't use our heater because it would just be way to much money, more money then we have each month. So we are all just wearing layers inside the house.

I'm wearing layers even WITH the heating. It's bloody freezing here today, freezing fog, hoar frost etc etc. BRRRR!

Yes, I enjoyed the book alot. It's about 700 pages or so, it was a bit of an easy read but it was fun.

I know what you mean. I wore gloves last night to bed.

Well, in future, when you're the most celebrated homoerotic author of the time, your anachronistic edition of Standish will be worth more money---and cherished by would-be homoerotic writers who want to be you and worry about making their own mistakes.

Bwahahaha!

And watch out for the unsigned ones. They'll be worth a flipping FORTUNE.

Actually, they DO have all-male ballroom competitions. Take it from me :) They're just not as popular or as 'child-friendly' as Strictly. And if you think AT is sexy, see a rumba done properly...

I saw Eragon. It was...so very bad. So very, very, very bad. I'm working on a post describing just how bad it is, along with the snarky little comments the guy I saw it with and myself made throughout the movie.

Not even the ARMOR was redeeming. It was shit. Utter and complete shit.

ERAGON = SHITE

My brother is like obsessed. Never mind that the only reason it got published was because of his parents, and the plot is pretty much a replica of Star Wars, with LotR etc. mixed in. BLAH I hate it.

*hugs* Hope your food wasn't all ruined? :(
