Gates knows best? I don't think so.

"Looks like someone is moving in at last."

Word helpfully suggests:

"Looks like someone ARE moving in at last."

*KEELS*

Oh, I feel your pain. Happens to me more than I'd like, too.

Word and Bill Gates are both bad spelers {sic}. I was reading something the other day which had "barbeque" in it. Word thought it was right. I don't like the "-que" spelling, so I checked all my dictionaries. Not ONE of them had that spelling! In fact, the Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors (my bible! *hugs it*), which gives a lot of Americanisms, actually *says* "not -que".

Bill Gates may go fornicate himself. Painfully.

In earlier versions of Word, a thesaurus search on "I'd like to see Bill Gates dead" would turn up a suggestion of "I'll drink to that."

Unfortunately, this has been remedied.

Darn.

I love the Google bombs that have things like that - like "French Military Victories" and hitting I feel lucky..

*types in my own word*

Word says politely: 'Consider revising' (Mine doesn't like when he can't identify the subject. Poor thing! XD)

What amuses me is that if I type "sarnie" it offers "Sanrio"

What the hell or who (as it has a capital) is Sanrio?

Mine offers: ‘serine’, ‘carnie’, ‘shrine’, ‘sane’ and ‘sari’. It doesn’t, however, offer ‘Sanrio’. :)

I think yours would be of no use to a non-native speaker. ;)

What floors me is when it suggests 'are' and when you put in 'are,' it suggests 'is' and when you put in 'is' it suggests 'are' and when you put in 'are' it suggets... and so on ad infinitum.

Aren't they supposed to self destruct at that point? I've turned off so many of the grammar checkers anyhow, they infuriate me so.

Sanrio is a Japanese toy company, makers of Hello Kitty. ^_^

Word is evil. I swear. You should see things that it wanted to turn the word 'Slytherin' into. Yeah. Evil.
