Excellent Doctor Who, action adventure, mild slash if you look sideways (yes, it's probably only me that saw it, don't worry you didn't miss anything). Unexpected twist on a well-worn premise of picking them all off one by one. Oh and in real time, too, clever reversal of "24" naming it 42 - being the number of minutes.

And the special effects rocked.

I did like Neil Gaiman's love letter to Dr Who yesterday, and I thoroughly agree with him about the early doctors, I'm old enough to remember them all, and although Tom Baker is my favourite doctor, for me, when it comes to characterisation and total BELIEF - for me it has to be Patrick Troughton. He IS the doctor, for me.

Oh and - if you DIDN'T see Jonathan Ross last night, you missed another treat - as they showed an exclusive clip of the episode where Captain Jack returns, and he's RACING through Cardiff immediately after the last time we saw him in Torchwood when he heard the engines, and he's screaming "DOCTOR" - and Ten SEES him on the monitor... looks shifty and takes OFF!!!!

I couldn't help but notice the Thewlis sound alike looking sideways, and when the crewman said "I think I've found someone" and she kissed him, I think (with my slash goggles on) that he didn't mean her.

And yes, it does. I'm really enjoying this series!

No - I've been been super sneaky actually, because that's almost exactly what DOESN'T happen.

Patrick Troughton (whose grandson played cricket for England, which makes things even more squeeful) and dear old William Hartnell. Did you ever see the films with Peter Cushing and Roy Castle?

I adored WH too, he was so irrascible! And yes, I saw PC - but didn't really like him in the role, but Roy Castle was hilariously brilliant!

We are still waiting for Torchwood here let alone the new Dr Who. It is a shame because OZ has been watching it since it started and it annoys we are lagging so far behind now.

Ahh all those afternoons being scared to death after school.....
