Have decided to pay someone in the firm to check over my contract. Frelling Blackhearted cheapskates that they wouldn't do it for nothing. However I am feeling a little lost and insecure, and realise that I need SOMEONE who knows what he's doing.

And he's going to ring the publishers for me. He's on the phone to them now!

argh!!!! *dies from the excitement*

I was glad to hear you decided to invest the money in checking up, though I didn't want to urge you to it before - it's your business, and I know nothing of the area beyond what I've read, except advice in how-to-write books which invariably say 'get a lawyer whose area of expertise this is to check your contract'.

Roll on Monday.

Why not demand a discount because you're doing the work? heh.
