I'd like to point out Unusual Historicals - a wonderful community filled with writers who just put me to shame when it comes to knowledge and research.

Their intro: A handful of historical romance authors brave the wilds of unusual settings and times to create distinctive, exciting novels just outside of the mainstream. Join us as we chronicle the trials and rewards of our quest-- from research and writing to publication and establishing lasting careers.

Each month they run a Theme - this month is Crime and Punishment - I've been invited to join (squee) and will be blogging on my speciality on 24th October!

So far we've had "Convicts to Australia" and "19th Century Abyssian Justice" and there are some rare treats to come.  So come and read - add it to your feed and learn something new every day!

On a more personal note - Lucius hasn't come in yet. and it's 10pm.  *worries* ETA: HE'S BACK!!!!!! *relaxes*

And if you missed it on my LJ Cut post about books - I got a review up on Smart Bitches for Brave New World as part of their Banned Books Week.

Well, the unusual setting has been always a hot argument. I know Bonnie Vanak's books are really original (even if I read nothing by her, but my friend say she is very good) and I have Sandra Schwab book on my bedtable. Jannine Corti Petska sent me and excerpt along with an historical article she has written on the Game of Siena in the past... Personally I have found really interesting a romance written many years ago by Joan Wolf and setting in England at the end of the Roman conquer...

That sounds like a really interesting community, and an excellent showcase for you.

Question: is the misspelling in your icon deliberate?

LOL! Another good call! Here I thought it was some kind of inside joke... you could tell me any old bollocks and I'd have given it credence!
