Bold what you have read, italicize what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. The numbers after each one are the number of LT users who used the tag of that book. I've added an addendum. Underline what you recommend.

I think this bears up a lot of what I've always said about myself. I live in the past.  As you can see, I didn't hate or not finish any of them..... My name is Erastes and I'm a bookaholic.

I'd like to point out Unusual Historicals - a wonderful community filled with writers who just put me to shame when it comes to knowledge and research.

Their intro: A handful of historical romance authors brave the wilds of unusual settings and times to create distinctive, exciting novels just outside of the mainstream. Join us as we chronicle the trials and rewards of our quest-- from research and writing to publication and establishing lasting careers.

Each month they run a Theme - this month is Crime and Punishment - I've been invited to join (squee) and will be blogging on my speciality on 24th October!

So far we've had "Convicts to Australia" and "19th Century Abyssian Justice" and there are some rare treats to come.  So come and read - add it to your feed and learn something new every day!

On a more personal note - Lucius hasn't come in yet. and it's 10pm.  *worries* ETA: HE'S BACK!!!!!! *relaxes*

And if you missed it on my LJ Cut post about books - I got a review up on Smart Bitches for Brave New World as part of their Banned Books Week.

But there's no-one around to chat to. Iz sad.

Just been watching a bit on Stardust.  And I hav Kwestions.

1. Which part - exactly - is that pratt Gervais supposed to be playing?

2. Why aren't the brothers Hot? They should be HOT. Surely that's not just me.

3. Why are we getting it months after everyone else?

4. Robert De Niro's character gets about 2 lines in the book.  This obviously merits his presence for half the film?

5. I don't think Gaiman even gets a mention in the trailer.

6. What happened to Mirrormask?

7.  He's producing Beowulf?  Gawd help us.

Seriously though. For ye authors and would be authors.  How far would you go?  Would you - for more money than you've ever seen in your life - hand over your baby - the book you've been living with and writing and loving and crafting for years - to Hollywood.  Would you run off in a Daffy Duck "woo hoo" manner with your money while they butcher your canon, warp your characters, add their own characters, make your gay boys bi who are only waiting for the right woman, and take liberties with costume and history?

Or would be stand firm - insist on rights, like JKR?

It's the devils choice.... And I HOPE I know what I would do with Standish.   I hope.
