Little postage tip!
Jul. 7th, 2008 12:28 pmI had a book to post to America. It was a big heavy book! The post office told me that to go airmail it would cost me £10/$20 so I blanched and said "how much for surface?" That was "only" £4/$8 so I opted for that. If it had to go by boat, then so be it - it would just take a lot longer to get there.
Imagine my surprise when four days later the recipient said that they'd received it!
Hell! I'm never sending parcels by airmail again! Seems they just shove them on the plane anyway!
I have a sick pussy. No jokes please. Severus is listless, off his food and his third eyelids are half over his eyes. Off his food being the worst symptom as he's a greedy (steal it if he can't get given it) kitteh and he's not touched his breakfast. I'm giving him 24 hours and then it's the Vet first thing tomorrow morning. *worries*
There's some fab films on this week. Footsteps in the Fog today - Stewart Granger as a wife murderer and Jean Simmons (minus the Kiss face paint, I'm assuming) and then tomorrow The Ghost and Mrs Muir! *squeeful*

Date: 2008-07-07 03:48 pm (UTC)Oooh... The Ghost and Mrs. Muir... wow did that film ever ignite my imagination when I watched it on television as a kid. Not to mention the sheer breath-taking gorgeousness of Gene Tierney.
