*Can you believe they don't have the Nightrunner series at the Norfolk libraries?  Unreal.

*Yanno, when we have our election I'm going to post extensively on every single second of it. See how you lot like portrayals of Gordon Brown opening supermarkets in Rotherham and David Cameron kissing babies in Aberystwyth. I may even post youtubes of Question Time. Serve you right. (yeah, right. Like I'm really going to care enough to do any of that...)

*I've just been over to Night Owl Romance to vote on a couple of books.  I'm a little disappointed that GLBT only gets an erotic category.  Bad Night Owl.

*Editing is DULL. To quote Craig Revell-Horwood. D.U.L.L.  And my Frost Fair editor missed loads of stuff.  Of course I did TOO, but then I know I suck. This is why I need editors!

*Is anyone else watching Strictly Come Dancing?  I get so involved - and every year I say I'm not going to.  The standard is amazing this year!

*Don't you wish you lived in the UK?  Look at all the Gay tv and radio coverage we get! Why isn't Strictly on that list?

*I watched Pan's Labyrinth. *sob*

*Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Don't worry - this obsession is wearing off as all my obsessions do. If they don't make it easier to get eggs soon (e.g. today) I'll be leaving my dragons to rot...

So with you on the election stuff. I am so sick of having to skim past 90 entries dealing with election crap news in order to find the posts I am actually interested in reading.

Some people could learn how to use an lj cut!

I tried the dragon egg thing and couldn't even get one egg, so never went back.

Editing is dull. I just finished a pass on a novel. Now I need to go back through and cut all the passive construction.

What night is Strictly Come Dancing anyway? After catching most of it on YouTube last year, I need to start watching it properly.

i have to say I don't get the passive stuff - when I cut it out, my Perseus editor put some of it back - I should try and find a grammar course and learn what I never was taught at my GRAMMAR SCHOOL!

Too right. I know it's important to them, but dull reading for us - especially when it's on the UK tv and radio constantly too...

Yeah - just about given up with the eggs. Too much like hard work!

Sorry, but given that 95% of the normal media in the US is owned by the bushwhackers, the internet is, corny as it sounds, the last bastion of free speech.

It was startling to look at newspapers and TV in Canada and find people actually criticizing the party in power, and referring to Bushco the way I tend to--with contempt. It's damned depressing to realize that people in the US have become so inured to the propaganda pandering of the major networks and cable news that they don't realize they're getting propaganda.

Personally, I'd be interested in UK politics. They can't be any weirder than where I've been.

Heheh. Well maybe I'm a weirdo but I'd probably find that quite interesting. As a US resident, I like hearing about politics outside my country because it brings me some perspective that is sorely lacking in most of our media outlets.

I'm doing edits too. I feel your pain.

Just 9 more chapters to go. Gah!

Oh, I wasn't being serious, not really. I skim over it all. It's the TV and radio over here that's annoying me more than anything. We are "treated" to every nuance of it while our own news and politics is almost shoved to one side. The head story recently was the VP debate (and frankly, I can't see what point that is for Americans, let alone for us over here) and the news was full of it, and the 3rd or 4th story was "just another murder" which I think was actually more relevant to us than Palin and wosshisname....

Believe me, you wouldn't find it interesting! However it is more grounded in the real world!

When I get back from Dad's I must crack on with it seriously, it worries me how easily I get bored/distracted. And as for writing - what writing?

It was mean of me, really, because people are allowed to post on anything they like, it's just that there was never this intensity at the last election. Everyone just was grumbling aboutBush and then voted him in anyway! It's our news and radio that really pisses me off, pushing our own country's news off the first page and concentrating on America.
