There's so much going on in blogland at the moment! Hallowe'en being such a special time (whistles innocently) there's a lot happening.

LUST BITES is holding a flash fiction competition for the spookiest erotic story of 200 words or under and here's the list of the goodies.

First Prize is all of the following:

Amanda's Young Men by Madeline Moore
Enchantment by Janine Ashbless, Olivia Knight, and Leonie Martell
Wildwood by Janine Ashbless
Phantasmagoria by Madelynne Ellis
Roping the Wind by Kate Pearce
Speak Its Name by Erastes, Lee Rowan and Charlie Cochrane
• Something Spooky by Portia da Costa
• and the so-hot-off-the-press-it-hasn't-been-released-yet anthology, which features a number of Lusties, Lust At First Bite.

Second and third prizes are copies of Lust At First Bite. Competition runs until 4th November.

Then there's the opening chat of The Macaronis on 31st October - sign up to join in yakking about gay historical fiction!

And of course, Two days to the Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt!

Are you feeling lucky?

200 words ... that's quite the narrow window ... but then, from the requirements they're not expecting a beginning, middle and end ... snippets will do. Good luck to all who enter!

Yeah - I'd have been tougher. Proper drabbles!
:)

It's a nice prize list - massive payment if you add up the cost of the books and then divide by 200 words!

Hmm ... what's Halloween without a good whip cracking, huh?

Great prizes for sure ... Lust at First Bite (okay yes ... vampires are a firm favourite) standing out pretty bright and blue for me there.

Though unless I missed it, Madeline's post doesn't give 'how to submit' details.

There's another competition of similar vein over at www.sevenwickedwriters.com, 500 words.

Oooh, now that's a nifty contest.

And you'll have to tell me what you think of BGS 2k8. Maybe even post about it, wink!

I certainly will - I'm reading through it, enjoying the stories a lot. Such a pretty book!

You are a bad person. Just read standish IN ONE SITTING. WHAT HAPPENS NOW??????????????

Also in other news, I may need to chat to you soonish - have an idea for either 1 book or a series of 3 books (depending on how overexcited I get) but they are HISTORICAL and involve THINKING. Was hoping I could get some pointers from the Master/Mistres!

Oh - does that mean you liked it?

What happens after the last line is completely and utterly up to you. I know what *I* think happens, but different people think different things. The clues are there, though in the last couple of pages, if you read Rafe's though processes.

I'm very happy you are thinking about trying the genre, and am happy to chat any time, either email or IM.

Ah yes. Probably should have mentioned that I loved it. Blame the painkillers - I am not at all my usual self!

As for the ending- I want Rafe to call out of the window. But.. it is not a very English Gentleman thing to do. And he was already getting his head around being alone.

Dammit. Now I want to read it again. Arrgh. Must let at least 1 week pass or else I will get confused. Have learnt this the hard way!

I may write you an email over the upcoming days - not that I don't like to IM, but I find it easier to write things (and remember them) in email form. I figure "write about what you know", so going to do something based around boys' boarding school. and then wander into WW1 I think. Not too sure after that - I am worriedly getting the idea for epicness in my head and not sure if that is 1)practical 2)sensible.

Well, he's not really English, remember - had a very foreign upbringing, and rarely behaves like society wants him too. Perhaps all it would take was the window opening for Ambrose to turn his head - who knows?

Your idea sounds interesting! look forward to hearing about it.

I eventually posted it using XChrisPristineX via AIM. For some reason I couldn't do it via LJ/crawling_angel.
