Oh Goodness me.

Who's that being mentioned on Publisher's Weekly today?

Could it be me and [livejournal.com profile] alex_beecroft?

You know - I just think it might be!! (please ignore the typo, too. It should be "Hardcore" not "hardcover." *laughs*)

ETA: and a discussion on Dear Author, too.

And we've been given the OK to release the book covers - so here they are!

First thought: DAMN! HOT DUDES!

Second thought: Umm...same dudes? Hope they're getting double royalties for the use of their image!

Congrats on your mention in PW!

And this piece of news makes me scream with joy:

>Running will promote the line through traditional romance outlets including advertising in Romantic Times and outreach through regional RWA chapters. Noting that the books will be shelved in the romance section rather than the erotica section, Running said the book will be “created to mirror romance novels, not gay erotica.”

Same chaps yes - but that's our fault both having a blond and a brunet. We should have had a redhead there somewhere!!

Oooh, a sexy smith! Fwoar! (And LOL at the image at bottom of your cover, with all the men and their BIG LONG STICKS pointed at each other! Oh grow up Wendy, you're too old to be so puerile.)

But the link to PW isn't working for me; too much traffic, maybe?

*laughs* too much traffic. As if!!

Very sexy smith. I hope he comes over like that, at least. He should have longer hair, but I don't really care!

I love the bottom of both covers - and the way they are made to look like a matching pair with the same format, colours and design.

Thank you! The editor wanted more of a painted style, but I think they work as they are.

Wow. Yeah, I saw that mentioned over on Dear Author, too. That is so awesome. What real progress for the genre, too. Congratulations! The covers are sweet and lovely.

Wow, I'm so impressed! That's so awesome--and I can't think of two more deserving authors. :)

(Just out of curiosity, do you know if Running Press will be publishing only M/M historical romance?)

I love them. Now that's the way to do book covers. Linden Bay could learn something from the pros. I see that the whole line is going to have a uniform design. I can't imagine anybody who likes historical gay romance would not be inticed by these covers!

I did MEAN to say I think they're both gorgeous covers, and I like the matching layouts and the setting photos at the bottom of both. I was just too busy indulging my inner 12 y.o. boy to say it first time 'round.

Goodness, on DA too! *faints*

I can hardly believe it, really. It's been a long journey. Why isn't it April NOW?

Thank you

Thank you! And yes, at the moment they are only publishing m/m historical of pre-1900 only. Here's hoping the books do well and they expand the range!

The nicest thing is that the cover tells you what the book is about without shoving it down your throat. Gay romance. Check. Can I tell the era? Hopefully. Is it a scene from the book? YES!

Thanks Mark, Alex and I are a little giddy right now.

WOW!!! HOT DUDES!!!
Congratulations, my dear - Publisher's Weekly is a BIG DEAL! Kudos to you - savour this, because it's a testament to all your hard work and dedication paying off. Good for you!

I'm dreadfully thrilled and am squeeing silently at my desk right now, while navigating the terrors of Hansard. :-)

Thank you, sweetie. I love that people on my flist, like you and gehayi and so many others have been around for so long, through fanfic, the beginning of Standish and all the way through. Your support means so much.

*sniffles*

I need alcohol.

Thank you, hun. I sort of knew this was coming - and of course we've been sitting on the covers for WEEKS, but now it's here and people are discussing it it's a bit scary.

But nice....

Now i have to work out how to do an icon that's not bloody BLURRY!
