Femgenficathon opens today!

I’m not in fandom anymore, as you know, but every year when the Femgenficathon opens I get tempted. It’s one of the best ficathons out there and unique too.

This year there are more prompts than ever, as the prompts always “sell out” – and although the fest has only been open for five hours its already filling up fast so if you want to join in, hurry over there and do it!  It started out as a Harry Potter fest, but for the past few years it’s been multi fandom, so you can pick any woman or girl in any fandom.  This is it’s FIFTH year, which is an amazing achievement for any ficathaon, and to get bigger every year is even more amazing. Kudos to Gehayi for its success – she puts a hell of  a lot of preparation into it, and even more this year than ever, as she’s researched who the quotes have come from, rather than just picking them out of the ether.

I really love that ficathon. It's unique, low pressure according to the long time you have to write and post the story, and there isn't the great flood of fic to read, but it spreads out nicely over a longer period of time.
