Started the Lombardy story today. Meant to leave it a couple of weeks, but I need to be doing something. Also have a vampire short on the go—or rather on the stall—for Greg Herren with luck. It might be a bit descriptive for him, but we’ll see. I’ll send it anyway.

Oh God, I’m a moron. Sometimes spellcheck is NOT my friend because it doesn’t spot these problems. I just wrote this.

Mason nodded, and followed Georges to the rear of the hotel.  "No lift here, I'm afraid, sir," Georges said, his flattened gentile tones belying the French pronunciation of his name

I rather think I meant GENTEEL. *smites self*

Or you could have meant "gentle," I suppose. Though I rather like Mason being Jewish and thinking of Georges as a Gentile.

I'm trying to visualize how a flattened Gentile would sound, and so far it's sort of a pained mumble.

hehe... I once read a sex scene a friend wrote that included "heaving beasts". Yeah, spellcheck = not always friendly.
