I received my authors' copies of Speak Its Name (the new version from Cheyenne) today and they really are very beautiful. The cover, designed by Alex Beecroft is entirely perfect. Coded but very clear as to what they are really about.  The internal layout is lovely too – I don’t think enough people give enough thought to what a book looks like inside.

Talking about covers – Jessewave has her Ugly Cover Part 3 post up.  There are some real horrors.  Do go and vote.

I was never a fan of Stephen Gatley or Boyzone's music, but I admired him for being out and no-one should die at 33

I was horribly ill yesterday – god knows what – probably all to do with the nosebleed and the worst TMI you can imagine(i will lay odds i can out tmi you) – i had a temperature, aches and pains, the sneezles.  I was convinced it was The Oink but obviously not thank goodness as it's gone now. Another odd symptom was a mad attack of the munchies. I ate a packet of Pringles, and two packs of chocolate and that's not like me. Seriously. I'm not a snack person in general.

OOoh, the pretteh :)

Sneezles...me too. All night and then the nose dripped over various patients at work the next day...then nothing, zilcho, *pfft* gone! Quickest recovery ever.

Stephen Gately. Quite. I'm wondering why of course. I hate half a story. *is sad*

I'm glad you're on the mend.

The cover looks great!

"I fear that she has expired from The Oink!" *giggle*

Glad that you're on the mend.

Perhaps this is the Cure for The Oink. Stuffing your face with crisps and chocolate. It makes sense, in a fat inducing way...

Thank you dear!

Perhaps I, too, felt a touch of The Oink upon me, evening last. For upon the kitchen counter a pile of Cadbury Singles wrappers did greet me upon my awakening this morn.

Take all of them. Then buy a mansion. At 900k a-piece it should be good.

Have given up after writing 5.5k today. Will try manage TWE by the end of the week as REALLY want to have the weekend to prep for super-sekrit thingy! Of course, then we have the dread editing, but at least this should not be as bad as DRM!

I'm glad to know you're feeling better today :) There's a lot to be said for the healing powers of chocolate.

I must say, Cheyenne Publishing's books really are beautiful quality. And the cover of this looks better in real life because the jpg includes an extra margin on the right hand side, which gets lopped off in the book-cutting-out process :)

There are so many ugly covers on Wave's post this time I could hardly manage to choose.

The Oink had nothing to do with it I was no where around you.

Damn. And that was going to be my first excuse, too.
