A review site advertising for reviewers:
Reviewers- We are looking for a kinder gentler reviewer. If you can't say something nice, pass on the book. We do want honesty, however, there are nice ways to say what you want to say. I'm sure you understand what we are looking for

Date: 2010-02-07 09:53 pm (UTC)a kinder gentler reviewera reviewer who will praise every book that comes her way in the most sincere-sounding of terms. If you can't say something nice, pass on the bookwe're not interested. We don't want to deal with authors who feel their genius hasn't been appreciated. Especially since publishing is a very small field, and either we all know each other or we know someone who does know the author. We do want honesty, however, provided that honesty is flattering. If there are no nice ways to say what you want to say...well, we're not interested in saying that a book is bad, or even mediocre, even if it is. ESPECIALLY if it is. I'm sure you understand what we are looking for. Not reviewers who will notice poor writing, plotholes, weak characterization or plagiarism. No. We want cheerleaders. There, fixed it for them.
