From Jim Hines’ LJ – a further statement from the editor of the anthology:

I plan on green lighting the GLBT Anthology. My Editor, who you've drag (sic) through the mud, will be in charge of it. We will accept both gay and staight (sic) authors for the Anthology. I trust my Editor. He will present the best of the submissions. No homophobic or slanerous (sic) stories will be in the Anthology.

My comment to him was I found it hard to understand why this problem had even arisen.  He said that he was concerned that by having straight writers in the anthology, the GLBTQ population would be represented in a “bad light”  - but why would that be?  Why would he choose stories that did do this to go into the anthology?   Weird.

Jeez.

If that's the publisher's idea of spelling and punctuation...

Perhaps it was all a big misunderstanding. Perhaps authors were worried that being edited by someone with an almost non-native command of English would represent them in a bad light.

I think this "editor" needs an editor!

He doesn't seem to understand what an editor IS or DOES.

Um, the slanderous stories by evil straights will jump in
there all by themselves? How, pray tell?

A cluster-fuck, IMO.

Well. I don't understand, at all. His logic just seems... not.

Now I'm even more confused:

http://www.leewind.org/

Here it's saying other authors from the same publishing house were the ones complaining. Huh?

Yes - that was the original story. it was the GLBT writers who said that by having hetero writers in the antho would cast gay people in a bad light. Go figure.

The link above, though, makes it sound like it was that it was an anthology with LGBT content that was the issue, not the contributors, unless I'm misreading it.

Ugh. Either way, it's pretty much crap. I can't believe any author would get upset about other authors or anthologies containing any content or contributor, really.
