I don't know WHO this painting is by , but hubba-dubba it's sending my slashy little mind into hyperdrive.

I know NOTHING about the crusades, or whenever it's supposed to represent, but ....gah... DROOLING - that picture says a 1000 words.

or 100,000 words to be novellistically precise....

It was used as the cover on a Paradox magazine about 2 years ago - I'll check and see if I still have it as I'm sure they had to credit it.

I get more an Indian subcontinent feel than crusades - probably from the tiger.

Thank you! I found the artist - it's Rudolf Ernst! Yay!

But really. he's so hot, and he's looking at someone in a very slashy way. It doesn't say to me "come buy my tiger skin" it says to me "come and sit under this skin with me and I'll rub your cock."

Heh heh.

*giggles* Although I do agree, dead tigers is not good.

He tends to specialise in hot arabian men.

I know NOTHING about the crusades,

All right then:

Richard Coeur de Lion (Richard I) was probably gayer than dad's hatband. (Richard/Blondel = OMG their love is so cross-cultural!)

His army were forced to do collective penance for sodomy en route to the Holy Land.

Saladin is still a Kurdish national hero (he is believed to be an ethnic Kurd).

Of course that's just the Third Crusade.

Not surprising you found the whole idea slashy!
