The BBC have a series running “History of the World in 100 objects” and today’s object was the Warren Cup.

Weather is HOT! Sooooo glad I can go and lie in the garden in the shade rather than having to work at Steeles in a non-air-con office where no-one cares if you die of heatstroke. Hee. Hard to concentrate on writing though. Despite good intentions (that needs to go on my tombstone) I didn’t get Muffled Drum finished by Sunday, in fact I didn’t write on Friday Saturday or Sunday. Today, just doing 500 words has been a real chore. I’m better than I used to be, I am learning to write without the constant crutch of someone pushing and encouraging me, or swapping their words written with mine, but it’s hard.

Also the timeline re the plot has just gone crackerdog and possibly flopbott. Which is really not good.

Yes. Poor diva-y me. Shut up, Erastes. Ok.

HILARIOUS article in the Historical Novel Review this month about “how not to review” which I’m going to have to scan in and post flocked, because it’s too good not to share.

I was going to watch Lost from the beginning, but thanks to spoilers on my flist I don’t know if I’ll bother now. Thanks! (grrr.)

Three baby sparrows in Dad’s garden today, all sitting about on the bird table and letting the parents feed them despite the fact that they were knee deep in bird seed. Very cute and more real than the TV!
