Had a lack of it this week (mainly because I only have PG Tips, and my favourite tea bags, Red Label are only available at Sainsbury's and I don’t shop there) and just made myself a cup and OMG It’s really given me a boost. I can just imagine how the first tea drinkers would have thought WOW! Note to self: Must drink more tea.

Swift eye update: I swear they are getting better. I still get the double vision, but sometimes I can make both eyes focus on one thing--like a painting or a vase or something. That's got to be good, right?

Interesting article on the Guardian regarding “lying” historical fiction which talks about the differences between LIES and INNOCENT MISTAKES and the trouble with crappy research or writers who don’t care about facts is that readers believe it. See the note about Wallace and Isabella—something that makes my teeth itch every time I hear it. If I didn’t want to punch Gibson for many many reasons, then that alone was enough to make me violent. Hmm. I think I’ll blog about this further on the Macs.

Bought a granny trolley. I found one for £9.99 with free delivery and took Paypal, so it came out of my royalties and not my actual money.

<<------ This one in fact – who knew there was a site called “Shopping Trolleys Direct”? I love the web! The trolley doesn’t have a fixed handle, but it isn’t going to get much use, so it should do the job to lug books and giveaways to Ely!

I’ve also bought 1000(!) which was the minimum order of brown paper bags made from recycled paper for my goody bags which were amazingly cheap—I can print my own labels to personalise them, and I need yet to burn the excerpts onto CDs, so I’m going to be LOADED down with stuff to giveaway and a few books to sell. I wish I could get there before 11.30 really, as I need a bit of time to get set up, but the day is going to be pretty informal anyway, I think, so it won’t matter. What I really hope is that it gains popularity and that more people want to come next time and so on.

It would be much appreciated. There is a Sainsbury's in Yarmouth, but I don't want to do an online shop there and spend more than i need JUST for red label teabags. If you get me a big box (and send minus the box) I can paypal you the money back!

Oh for goodness sake you will not pay me.

May not get there before Tuesday but will write it on list for that day.

I love the fact that it folds down! Folding wheels? That's really quite cool.

I hadn't even thought about doing goody bags! I don't think I have anything to put in them.

I've been stocking up for months and months - i have loads of hats and keyrings and pens and a mousemat and teeshirts and cloth bags, as well as the old postcards. Most of the stuff says I *heart* the Macaronis.

Good news about the eyes.

Granny trolleys are so useful. I take the bag bit off mine and have used it to trolley 2 cat baskets at the same time down to the vets.

i hope i'm not deluding myself--but i was just practising and as long as i keep my head still i can focus on various objects around the room. it's only when my head - or my body - is moving that it's impossible to do. I can't focus on the print in a book, have to close an eye.

I think it might be useful! I'll keep it in the car once i'm allowed to drive again.

Great news about the eyes!

We got a trolley (actually supposed to be for carting beer to tailgate parties--not likely!) for shoppig at the farmer's market. It's got a slidey handle like a carryon bag. Great invention for peeps over 40--or anyone trying not to hurt their shoulders.

CD EXCERPTS! THANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER! Will fix mine today.

Today, I'm not so sure, and think i was being a bit optimistic. Ah well, not getting worse, I suppose, which has to be something.

Excellent, go forth and excerpt!

I know, its shaming isn't it. Lili has been sleeping on the PC bag for 2 weeks now, ever since I stopped going to dad.

I have about three of those trolley bags. One of them has a rigid base, but it folds up around it; the others have the folding wheels. Warning: They don't take a lot of weight sometimes (I've had the wheels give way on me, but I did have the trolley loaded to the gills at the time). But they are dead useful if you just want to lug a load of stuff from one place to another, and not need to keep diving into it for things (hint: take a large handbag for your book/whatever for on the train, specs, hanky, etc!).

And Mum isn't going to Cyprus in September after all, so I'll be able to come to the meet-up!

oh hurrah!! that's brilliant - make sure you let Alex know on the comm.

I'm sure it will collapse, i'm taking a good few books with me, but hopefully it will only be: car/train/car/meetup/car/train/car and not much actual wheeling. i shall look helpless in norwich and hope someone comes to my rescue
