Meeting LJ friends!

I went to meet asphodelineand johnrwtoday. We met for lunch in Horning which is a beautiful (and tourist stuffed, even in this weather) Broadside village.

It’s very odd meeting LJ friends, specially ones you’ve known for so many years. I’ve known Asphodeline since before she met John, I think—way way way back in darkest fandom country, and when I meet someone like this, it’s like I’m not meeting strangers, even though we’ve never met, and rarely even seen photos of each other, it’s just like meeting someone you’ve only seen the day before. We had a lovely lunch which they kindly treated me to, they put up with my impressions of Coffin Henry, and we talked about everything from Light Speed to Galaxy Quest to anachronisms to genetics to Linux to bees!  They also donated a pot of home made honey which I’m SO looking forward to trying I can’t say, it’s beautiful and liquid and amazing. Honey is magical, imho.

Still wondering how we were there so long and didn't notice time going by - magical!!

Non-internetty people think I'm mad talking about internet friends as "real" friends but I swear you are all more family than friends and more friends than most out in this real world.

I forgot to ask you about these dragon egg things - I still don't quite understand how they work and if just clicking them does something!

Now, back to that book by the amazing Erastes :)
