Thank you! She's very poorly and has been sleeping this afternoon, best thing for her, I think.

Hope whatever is going on is far less alarming than it sounds, and easily treated.

Sounds like what happened to my Babykitty back in 2008. She ate something that disagreed with her--a spider I suspect--and kept throwing up until she was spitting up blood.

The vet told me the blood was likely coming from an irritated throat from all the prior vomiting. She gave Baby a shot, then some meds to make her want to eat which she hadn't done in over a day.

She recovered just fine. I'm sure your Lili will too.

I HOPE so - it was hugely alarming - she often is sick and loses a meal, so I didn't pay any attention when she threw whiskas all over the rug, but then she started heaving and the blood was terrifying. Thank you - she's hiding at the moment and she's not come down for her dinner, but she's had a nice long drink, so i'll take some water upstairs and keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Sounds like she likes to nibble 'wild food' like spiders and other bugs. It's guaranteed to make my cats sick every time they gobble down a spider, and they do it with alarming regularity. And that worries me because we have recluses and widows in this area. I think when they get really sick it's because they ate one or the other of this kind of spider. Precious has done it too, and had to be taken to the vet. She didn't vomit blood, but she refused to eat anything but Wild West Crunch cat treats for several days afterward.
