dwarf index: 1 (sleepy)
Dec. 6th, 2010 05:21 pmi am TIRED. really bone tired. I wake up tired and I drag myself through the day tired. It’s that bone crunching weariness that means that I could—right now at midday—happily lay down on dad’s sofa and nod off. don’t know whether it’s the pills or whatever but I want to sleep.
but enough whining.
Words done! over 4k this week. It’s not huge, but every day brings the ending closer, and I’m being brave and I’m chipping away and the PART I DON’T WANT TO WRITE… I think I’ll come off Warfarin when I finish, just so I can get so fucking HAMMERED.
Yesterday we went for lunch at the local place and the waiter—i kid you not—could have done a Colin Morgan lookalike competition and beaten Colin into second place. I actually did a double take which was a bit stupid, i realise.
I watched the A-Team which was hugely enjoyable. I used to love the series (and sadly I wasn’t a kid) and Murdoch was my out and out favourite. I think Sharlto Copley (who i really think is a major talent) did a fabulous job (couldn’t beat the original, though) and the other parts were almost unrecognisable from their counterparts—well done! I hope we see another film or two. Wasn’t prepared to like Neeson in the role, because he’s done Gravit-arse to death and back, but he was surprisingly convincing. Liked the cameos by original face and thingy from Mad Men. Nom Nom.
A few days ago we had a visitor. Lucius brought a starling in, and of course, because I was bellowing NO!! He dropped it and starling began to fly around the house banging into windows. Thank god it was a starling because they have grit, and don’t die of fright. Anyway a good time was had by all (apart from the starling, obviously) as we all rushed around the room, with me yelling and the Snucius thinking how lovely it was to have mummy join in. Luckily though, after the bird spent an hour or two behind one of the bookshelves, it flew directly into my lap and I grabbed it gently and put it outside, leaving the Snucius hunting around the house wondering where I put it. Poor thing, I hope he managed to get some food and some rest and made it through the night.

Date: 2010-12-07 01:00 am (UTC)Fortunately it was summer, so we carefully opened every available window in the kitchen and living room and raised the screens while dodging the swooping, screaming bird flying about the room. Then we headed out to get breakfast out somewhere. By the time we were outside and had sorted out which car to take, it had found its way out, and proceeded to sit in a nearby tree and scream at us.
Chipmunks in the living room can be quite entertaining too. And the little suckers have very sharp teeth when you try to rescue them.
