I am now using my glasses full-time without the occlusion. It’s still not perfect but it’s great to be nearly there. My next appointment is 30th December. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to get the all –clear? I doubt that, but I travel hopefully.

I don’t know if anyone has been watching “Any Human Heart” but I have to say, I’ve been struggling with it. I haven’t read the book, and I suppose I should do before I slag off the series but Good God it’s a bit dull. I think they were going with the “let’s try and make another GBH” or something and it’s so not. It’s woolly, self-indulgent (he keep repeating himself over and over and over) and with the most unlikeable protagonist.  Now you know me, as I normally LIKE unlikeable protagonists, but he’s just ghastly. Boring, self serving, and as far as I can see, has no positive traits whatsoever!

Is anyone else watching?  What do you think of it?  The costumes are lovely, but it’s really not gripping me. I shall watch it, because I’m a finisher, but not impressed.

I am not watching the show because I read the book and really hated it. Annoying characters who have neither brains nor anything else to make them interesting.

Well, that's reassuring in a way that the character is just as bad in the book. He probably manages to hold the interest in the series because he's 1. a cute young man 2. Mathew Mcfaddyen (sic) and 3. Jim Broadbent. It amazes me what crap they make into series.

Watched the first episode on catch-up but haven't got round to seeing the rest, which probably says it all about how much I liked the programme. I adore Matthew Macfadyen and will watch him in anything so I will finish, but it just hasn't grabbed me either, mostly because Logan is, as you say, totally unappealing despite the best efforts of the actors (who deserve better).

Garrow's Law over on the other side has been MUCH better.

Yes, Logan just floats through life, and that isn't good characterisation, imho - it's a lazy version of Forrest Gump, really.

And Garrow's Law is excellent. Annoying they only do four at a time, though when so many other shows have squillions in their run *new tricks cough cough*

Very happy to hear that your eyes seem to be improving, honey. I hope you get an all-clear, too.

Thank you! It's not perfect but It's good enough, and by taking the occlusion off, i'm forcing the eyes to work together more!

I gave up on it at the first instalment, I'm afraid. I'm a finisher too, for the very sake of it, but nowadays I make the early decision whether to even start! Good cast, but I just didn't take to any character in the first hour.
