Because we're cool? Er, rather, Quakers are, not just 17th Century ones.

Anyway, I certainly support more things being written with Quakers in them, so, um, let me cheer you on?

*cheers*

Actually, George Fox didn't even feel his call to ministry until the mid-1640s and the group didn't get dubbed 'Quakers' until around 1650, but by 1660 the group was well-established. So, yeah, depending on when in the 17th century this is set . . .

Anyway, now I have to ask the traditional question Quakers ask when they discover somebody who actually knows a member of the religion: who was he? Feel free not to answer, but I just had to satisfy my curiosity.

Aww, but Quakers are more interesting!

Really, though, it's perfectly alright. Write about who you want; we'll still read.

No way! He speaks beautifully, but it's just a nuisance, as I don't know how to spell most of them. Wouldst, Couldst etc etc.

Yeah, I noticed the 25 years ago/ohio bit, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything; I'm active on a national level Quakerwise and know people from coast to coast and of a truly wide variety of ages. Besides which, I'm also from the sort of Quaker family that's been Quaker since the time of George Fox, so I'm related to half of everybody who has any sort of Quaker ancestry. As a for-instance, one of the family homesteads for the Hastings branch of the family is out in Ohio. Really, the Quaker world is quite small.

Also, is that Virginia Beach Friends School, you speak of? If so, I also know some people down that-a-way. Cos, y'know. Everywhere, We are everywhere. And thanks, I'd like to think we are exactly that.

And then, of course, you're welcome. 8)
