Blimey! Bits and Bobs.
Nov. 7th, 2007 11:38 pmI was watching Dragon's Den the other night and was interested in a failed pitch by a Norwich based writer who wanted £175000 to make a film of her book "Dance of the Goblins" - just did a search on it to see what the book was like and noticed that on IMDB that she's made it, as it's in post production. However she did say that she had someone "well known" as an actor and there's no sign of HIM. But amusing that she's done the film. I suppose that loads of films must die without seeing the light of day, though. Distribution is a bitch , I understand.
Talking of films/cinema - going to see Stardust tomorrow - and NEXT WEEK - they are (unbelievably) showing "The Menagerie" (pilot for Star Trek) on at the cinema!!! So I've convinced Kerry into going as she needs her geek virginity broken.
I've joined the cool kids (such as
evermonde (now known as Hayden Thorne) and
rwday and have activated my long-dormant Erastes Wordpress blog which I'll only use for writerly things.
Heroes! Argh! What cliffhangers! They said in the "behind the scenes" programme that "the network goes off air for five weeks after 18 episodes" so that's why all cliffhangers are in that episode. Why is that?
I read Death In Venice at long last - and also watched the DVD, preferred the book (which is usual for me). I thought the film was rather dull, and actually gave up half way through. But the book is tremendous - which is probably why the film just didn't hack it because there's almost no dialogue in the book - it's so internal.
Wrote about 700 words today. And had an exciting email, but I can't talk about it yet, because I'm superstitious.
AND IT'S COLD!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to bed with a hot water bottle.
