Although it's worryingly NOT like March roaring in like a lion. I think we are due some gales at some point!

Working on Chapter six of MM. Things are occurring.

Lili is actually on the windowsill in the sunshine and not welded to the radiator, and Lucius didn't come in for his breakfast. Yes, it must be spring.  Whether I see Lucius later on today or in 3 months time, is an experiment worthy of Schroedinger. ETA; he's here, exhausted, unhungry and covered in mud. Full of mouse, if I'm any judge...I despair of my louche lad.  Lili is sulking and hungry because the doctor said she's not to have any more dried food as it can contribute to cystitis, and she's not happy, she loves her biccies more than anything.

I've just finished "The Vesuvius Club" (pressie from Chris Smith) which I thoroughly enjoyed. Spoilers ahead. Book 43 of the year. eek!

I did like it, I loved Lucifer, of course, and Charlie ("needs rescuing six times before breakfast") particularly, but all in all it got a bit James Bond towards the end for me. I'd have preferred more wit and less special effects.  I think I'm going to have to take it off The List, as it's steampunk, to be frank, and not real historical.  Chris tells me that the next two books aren't as good, but I'll have to read 'em anyway.  However I won't be ordering them from my local library, that's for sure. *grumbles*  Well worth a read if you haven't tried it, you'll adore the characters!

I thought the second book was a lot better written, better paced, no zombies (I really hated the zombies in the first book). However, not to spoil things, Charlie's ultimate fate in the second book enraged me. I haven't read the third, but may order it from the library.

Oh No! Something horrible happens to Charlie? I won't be getting that then!

Artistically, I understand the decision, and grudgingly accept that it was a sound one. Nonetheless. Grrrr!

But it really is well written.

We had to stop feeding Snoot her crunchies about 6 years ago. She was not happy (even though at the time she only had 3 teeth!) but ... an occasional bit of ham minced up in the wet food helped her overcome the loss. She's 19 now--the switch really has given her a lot more time to nap in teh sunshine.

Might I recommend James Wellbeloved cat food? You can't get it everywhere, I have to get it from the big pet place, but it has cranberry extract in,(good for preventing cystitis) and sorted out every one of Gabriel's many stomach problems in one.
