Pop over to Coffee Time Romance and join in the chat – The Macaronis are there all through June

(although if the attendance is like it is today (e.g. zero) it may be an entirely wasted month.

May I say that *squeeful* POLDARK from Episode one and Deep Space Nine ditto is just heaven?

As a few of you asked - Here are some images which sum up Mere Mortals

Wow. Someone was afraid of attack, back when the house was built, or at least when the mere/moat/whatever was installed. :)

Great pics, though -- they really give a flavor of the area.

I think it was pure affectation, actually - it goes back to Tudor times (Oxburgh Hall which is near Peterborough) was originally built in 1482 i think, although it's been fiddled with since! The windows are of no use for defence, it's a wonder it wasn't damaged in the war of the roses or the Civil War.

Glad you liked 'em!

Right, I'd have expected the windows to have been cut in later, if it was built for defense. Of course, if it was just for show then they could do whatever they wanted. :)

Great images. Love the house!

I've been mulling over the end of Transgressions and I wondered how Jonathan and David would continue their relationship at a time when careers could be ruined and lives lost so easily by rumour and speculation. Was there much comeback for people who worked for Cromwell after his death, i.e. do you think the lads would survive?

There was a horrible backlash after the Restoration, unfortunately. Charles sought revenge on many that signed his father's death warrant, and others. I think the best thing the boys could do is to run - and run as far as they can. Perhaps the Colonies!

Perhaps the Colonies!

That sounds like a damned fine idea.

Do you know, Canada would be a wonderful choice for them...might I suggest a nice little island off the NE coast? ^__~
