Been at home today,
Jun. 7th, 2009 07:26 pmNot with Dad, as he wasn’t feeling up to much this morning. He has low blood sugar (like me) and mornings aren’t a good time generally. I can’t get him to remember to HAVE BREAKFAST which is something mother always made sure he had, with toast and lots of marmalade. Course by the time I rang him a couple of hours later he’d forgotten all about that conversation! So I’m going over there tomorrow instead, which will make a change. Missed father’s day, but he wouldn’t know it was that, anyway!
It’s been strange to be home on a Sunday! People aren’t around, so I’ve been a bit bored, although I know I should be writing! I finished chapter 19 of Mere Mortals yesterday (for my new friends, which I know I picked up thanks to “How Publishing Really Works”’s blog party, this is my Work in Progress, a gay historical gothic-mystery-romance set on the Norfolk Broads in 1847) and I was a bit stuck as to where to go next. I have my ducks in a row as to the major things that need to happen but the ACTUAL next thing was eluding me. Then – as often happens – I was chatting to Gehayi about it, and something she said sparked me off, and now I have a focus. Must try and start chapter 20 tonight. Chapter 20! That’s somewhere I never thought I’d be so quickly. :D
My cats are weird. (Well, yes, I know you knew this) Cats are not supposed to like getting wet, are they? Severus in particular seems to take intense pleasure in it, and today he’s come in three time utterly soaking. He seems to think it amusing as he runs in, leaps into my arms, falls asleep, and an hour later, he gets off, nice and warm and dry and Mother is mildly damp. No wonder my wrists ache. It’s rheumatism, brought on by wet cats.
The Sun egg is a self-bred one, so I’m hoping for a different dragon than the one I have, there are quite a few alternatives, so fingers crossed.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
