I’m wavering buying Ludwig II book one and two on Amazon.  They aren’t cheap – about £10 but I’m seduced by the pretty… He was such a good looking young man.  It’s a story so full of romance and love letters and passion and madness and swans that I’m surprised no-one’s tackled it in gay historical romance already – but then it does surprise me that there are so few true stories being put into gay historicals when there’s such a wealth of homosexual relationships through history.  I suppose it’s because they generally don’t end happily, and Ludwig’s story is certainly a case in point.  I admit that the Ludwig story does appeal to me, so perhaps if no-one’s done it in a year or two, I’ll give it a go. Perhaps I’m just the mad person to tackle it, being full of romance and letters and passion and madness and swans. Ok. Perhaps not swans.

I’ve just finished Season two of Chuck. I decided I couldn’t wait and watch it weekly, the internet has made me too impatient for that.  So now I don’t have anything to watch – any suggestions? Please?

I've got those lying around somewhere. Higuri-sensei is all sorts of lovely; although I'm not sure whether Ludwig is a good intro to her works. But eh, don't mind me and go get them; I'm just ornery that she isnt continuing Cantarella...

Is Cantarella historical?

I would love to see someone do the research on Ludwig properly. I always felt that he was a smart guy who may have been murdered to stop him spending money on building pretty things. Back before I had the help of the intarwebs, I was interested in his boyfriends, and couldn't find much on them. I am not sure if acquiring a deep understanding of Wagner would be simpler with the assistance of the kind of neopagans (as in Creative Anachronism type fanatics) who've already gone through all that.

I may have to give it a go at some point, it does strike me as a great story, although it won't sell, being a tragedy, in the same way I can't shift Junction x!!!

Mmmmm. Swan...

Ludwig was never a man to skimp was he? It's worth doing, it's worth overdoing!
