[Error: unknown template qotd] Well I think everyone knows the answer to that. If I had the money I'd probably go and live in Austria on a mountain for the Winter.  I don't actually like being cold, but I love the snow so much--and all the fun that comes with it, like sledging, ski-ing etc that I forgive it. Perhaps it's the way that it makes everything lighter and brighter in these dark days or the way it whitewashes everything and even places like London are made icing-beautiful for a few minutes. I'd hate to live somewhere where there were no seasons.  My parents lived in Spain for several years but got bored with waking up to blue skies every single day... The tropics have never interested me, just going to a tropical island to lie on a beach is dullsville.

I couldn't agree with you more. I would love to live somewhere with more snow.

If I had the money I'd go one of those places that goes over the top for Christmas every year.

Definitely. We have had our eye on Prague in winter - largely because when we there we just kept thinking - whats it like in the snow? But some of the Scandinavian countries would be great as well.

The same here. I just love all the seasons too much. They each have their own charm. And somehow snow makes me feel like a child again. If snow is predicted during the night, I will be the nutter who wakes up every hour or so to peek out of the window. :D

Did you get your snow yesterday?

we got a bit, and it's very cold so it's still on the ground, which is nice, but it won't last much longer i think.

Yes, I love the 'glow' of the street/gardens at night when there's snow on the ground. Also the sound...how every sound is dampened down.

Can you believe there was still a lil mouse feeding on the bird's lardy balls last night?

I'm trying not to let my mind go into the gutter, but it's so difficult!!!

You can have every bit of snow in New England for all of me. I would cheerfully live in a place that was warm and comfortable all year round and say goodbye to the seasons.

While I could go forever without the hassles of snow, I'm 100% with you on the dullness of the tropics. I grew up in Hawaii, and it just never really clicked with me.

It's the changing of seasons and the variability of the sky that I like here in the temperate zone. Also? I really do like rain.
