Woot!  I won an award!  OK – not actually ME…. Alex Beecroft won it for the cover of Frost Fair. Thank you, Alex and well done!

Is there anything I can eat that Lucius doesn’t like?  Yesterday it was mussels. He eats everything I do. Spaghetti, lasagne, prawns, pizza, chinese…. he’s Garfield isn’t he? He even likes chips. But only french fries. Nachos. To look at him, you’d think he’d be turning his nose up at junk food and insisting on beluga.  Come to think of it—he’d probably scoff that too. The only reason he doesn’t is that I can’t afford it.

Not that I’m saying that my cats are spoiled or anything, but right now, I’m sitting here with the hem of my jumper in my teeth and Severus is snoring--lying flat out in the sling that it makes. No, not spoiled at all.

And remember me having to put a separate chair next to the radiator so Lucius could sit there again after Lili pinched his chair? Well right now, Lili is sprawled over BOTH chairs. And Lucius is sitting in the middle of the room again, staring at her back…

My Cyril is like that. :) Eats pumpkin, corn and broccoli. His brother is totally picky though.

Also, my point in clicking to reply-- CONGRATULATIONS to the both of you! *cheers*

my first cat was like that - her favourite dinner was Christmas dinner because she loved chestnuts, sprouts and sweetcorn. I asked the vet and he said that a varied diet was probably good for them! (although Lucius' diet is rather junk food filled...)

And thanks!

Hee, Lucy eats everything. And I mean everything -- this dog eats salad. Nigel, on the other hand, sniffs at it and gives us these aggrieved glares.

*Laughs* My dad's dauschund used to eat anything too because he was greedy "want a pea, Josh?" we'd go... and he'd just eat anything you'd give him. it's bad really because we'd give him things like toffee and extra strong mints just to see the reaction. Bad Dog Owners.

Congratulations, both of you :)

Um... three chairs? I thought Nute was bad stealing my peppermints.

it will end up looking like a dentists in that corner of the room, and I swear Lili could hog three chairs given the opportunity.

You know I have the opposite problem. I opened a tin of salmon the other day for Puss. He looked at his plate, licked the salmon a bit then looked up as if to say 'What the hell's this, bitch?' He must have only had a few mouthfuls from the whole tin. Needless to say I was evOl and put it down to him three nights running until it was used. Tuna is another matter, he's okay with that.

My friend had to put a child lock on her fridge and freezer as Esme was able to open them when she was at work and help herself to anything she wanted. She also likes cheesy wotsits, prawn crackers and pizza.

I said to Puss the other night as he was huffing over the salmon 'There's pusskats in India who would be glad of that!'

Spooky used to be like that - really fussy - she was an only cat and I'd open a tin and she'd eat ONE meal, but then she'd refuse to have the same flavour for the next meal...

I love the idea of your friends cat raiding the fridge!

Congrats! And good timing too with that picture!

The Winter Festival around here had an event called the Frost Fair. I thought of you every time I passed a poster that mentioned it! :D

That makes me wonder about my old cat. She's no longer with us, but she used eat only cat food. She wouldn't touch bites of chicken or tuna or sandwich meat or anything else that I could imagine trying to feed her. Just sniff and look at me like, What's your point? She loved her cat food, wet, dry, any old thing, but that was it. I think Lucius has the right idea.

Congratulations to you and Alex for the cover. :)

Lili is like that - she won't TOUCH people's food and makes such a face when it's offered you'd think I was trying to poison her.

:) She must have a strong sense of self-preservation. Maybe it's the females?

Congratulations to you and Alex on the new cover of Frost Fair. Whenever she decides to retire from writing she has a built-in career as a cover artist. So far, every cover that she has produced is excellent and most important, seems to reflect what the stories are all about.

BTW cats ARE spoiled. Not like dogs who can't do enough for their mistresses.

Thanks, Wave - and yes, she's very talented. I wish MLR had gone with her cover for The Mysterious instead of their normal "too many images I can't work out what it is, and while we are at it, let's make it out of focus with a dead body in the foreground." *sigh*

I know - I keep trying to train them to fetch my slippers...
