Watched “Inception” last night – and really I think my reaction was “meh.” It was all incredibly predictable – although I probably watch far too much spec fic so I’m rather jaded – the ending was “oh right, like I didn’t see THAT coming.” When I came out of The Matrix my mind was entirely blown with the whole “this could be REAL” idea, but Inception didn’t do that – and from the interviews I’ve seen on line wasn’t really supposed to be –the guy who created it said that he’d nicked the ideas from just about everywhere, after all.

HOWEVER, it did blow my mind in the second half, when they start the mission proper because of the effects, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (what a bloody STAR he is, and is going to be, he’s the Ledger to be, i think) and Tom Hardy. Both Hardy and Leavitt blew DiCaprio away acting wise. Highly enjoyable, and I’d like to have seen it on the big screen, but not the mind-bending experience that I thought it might be.

Then I watched Repo Men, or at least half of it, and OMG what a VERY unpleasant film. It’s obviously meant to be, but I think it could still have been so without the level of shock/gore that is in it.

MRI didn’t happen, sigh. which was no surprise. There will be a massive complaint letter winging its way to the NHS tomorrow.

Mmm, Tom Hardy is just too hot for words. I keep hearing Shinzon's voice when he speaks though :P

Are you seeing HP, babe?

Yes, I didn't think Inception was a staggering work of genius, but the action scenes were amazing, and the banter between Arthur and Eames seems to have pinged the entire world's slash goggles, including mine - and from an entirely shallow pov, think of the pretty :)

Arthur and Eames definitely rocked my little world. :D Such talent! I don't know what I've seen Hardy in - just looked at his bio and don't recognise anything!

Yes, nothing I recognised either, though I have just watched "Rocknrolla", which is a gangster movie with T Hardy as a gay gangster. He's not in a lot of it, but he's very good in what he is. He's apparently going to be the new Mad Max, though, so he's obviously a rising star, as is JGL.

Completely off topic, but there's another terrific Jason Isaacs interview here

OH that's great thank you - what a lovely grubby picture... :D

I think "Call this a HICE?" is my favourite line in any film ever.

Oh, dear. WHY didn't the damned MRI happen?

I was briefly confused, because first I thought that you were talking about Repo Man (a so-called comedy from 1984) and then when you said it was unpleasant, I thought you were talking about Repo: The Genetic Opera (a horror musical that I have resolved NEVER to watch).

no. Repo Men. MRI didn't happen becuause as predicted i was too big. i have no idea why they even sent me there. just to humiliate me, i suppose.

They probably sent you there to establish that you can't fit in the regular MRI and therefore need the one at the racetrack. I'll bet someone in the bureaucracy refused to allow that without proof that you couldn't use the one at the hospital.

In that case, I have exactly two words for them:

Farshtinkener. Bastards.
