But the question isn't necessarily chauvinistic to the US -- Mexico has Cinco de Mayo, Canada has Canada Day (July 1, which makes for a staggered long weekend that's equally inconvenient for everyone visiting across the border) and I know Russia has something in... I think it's October, it's been a long time since World History in high school.)
